FAQs
This sounds like me... how can I take part?
Just get in touch. Contact details are listed on the contact page.
What should I expect as a participant?
I will email you to let you know when a new blog post / image has been released. I will include a link to the post. You are then free to go online and look at the post.
Am I expected to comment on the images?
It is always up to you to decide whether or not to take part. As a participant, you can read the comments made and you can comment if you wish to. If you decide to take part you are still free to withdraw at any time and without giving a reason.
Can I comment anonymously?
Yes when you make your comments you are asked to supply a name (this can be a pseudonym) and an email address (this is so that I know that it’s you and others will not be able to see it).
How will the information on the blog be used?
I will be using the comments on the blog to form my data. This means that I will analyse what is said, put it into themes and then discuss these themes in my doctoral dissertation. In most forms of research confidentiality will be assured however this is clearly not possible with a public blog! I will however not reveal the identities of those who post using pseudonyms or reveal email addresses of participants outside of the group and will anonymise all names in the final write up.
Will we be able to read the research?
Yes, the doctorate will be a public document.
What else should I be aware of?
Please note that the blog is housed on a website that is publicly accessible. Due to the nature of blogs on websites comments made will always have a level of permanence.
